ALPS celebrates Robert G. Frykberg’s Lifetime Achievement Award for advancing diabetic limb preservation

The American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS) congratulates Robert G. Frykberg, DPM, MPH, on receiving the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Diabetic Foot Society of India at DFSICON in Bangalore. The award recognizes nearly five decades of contributions to diabetic foot care, limb preservation, clinical research, and the prevention of avoidable amputations. A respected educator and mentor, Frykberg has helped shape generations of specialists worldwide while advancing interdisciplinary approaches to diabetic limb preservation. His achievements reflect ALPS’s mission to improve outcomes for people at risk of diabetes-related limb loss through research, education, collaboration, and access to specialized care.

ALPS Founding Secretary Ryan Crews, PhD, CCRP, Honored with APMA Award of Excellence

Ryan Crews, PhD, CCRP, has received the 2026 American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Award of Excellence, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors. Dr. Crews was nominated by Janet Simon, DPM, and the award was presented during the APMA House of Delegates meeting held March 14–15 in Washington, D.C. The recognition highlights Dr. Crews’ longstanding contributions to research, collaboration, and advancement within podiatric medicine and limb preservation.

ALPS Founding Secretary Ryan Crews, PhD, Honored with APHA Public Health Advocacy Award

ALPS is pleased to announce that Founding Secretary Ryan Crews, PhD, has been awarded the 2024–2025 John and Janet Carson Public Health Advocacy Award by the Foot and Ankle Health (FAH) Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA).
Dr. Crews received the award during the FAH Section’s annual dinner held in conjunction with the APHA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, on November 3rd. The honor recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to podiatric public health education and advocacy.
