ALPS and PFA Unite to Advance Global Pedorthic and Diabetic Foot Care

California — In a continued effort to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration in lower limb health, the American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS) and the Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA) have announced a new formal affiliation aimed at advancing pedorthic care, improving patient outcomes, and supporting global efforts in diabetic foot care and limb preservation.

This affiliation brings together two respected organizations with a shared commitment to reducing preventable limb loss and increasing awareness of the important role of pedorthic and interdisciplinary care in healthcare systems worldwide.

“We are delighted to be affiliated with the Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA),” said Georgia Krehbiel, MBA, CEO of ALPS.

“Pedorthists play an important role in supporting the continuum of limb preservation—helping to reduce risk, manage complications, and improve mobility through specialized footwear and orthotic solutions. By working together with PFA, we can broaden access to education and strengthen interdisciplinary care models that ultimately improve patient outcomes.”

“The Pedorthic Footcare Association is honored to collaborate with ALPS. Pedorthists are often the first line of defense in the prevention of wounds utilizing properly fitting footwear and orthotics. It takes a team to prevent reoccurrence which leads to addition limb loss. Together ALPS and PFA will save limbs and lives.” Jeffery S. Rich, C. Ped, President of PFA.

Looking ahead

Through this affiliation, ALPS and PFA come together to foster connection, learning, and shared progress in limb preservation and footcare. Both organizations will encourage engagement across their communities, including participation in each other’s conferences and events.

“At DFCon and DFUpdate, pedorthists will gain exclusive access to hands-on training and advanced clinical insights essential for mastering the latest innovations in lower-limb preservation and patient mobility. Attending these premier conferences allows professionals to fulfill vital continuing education requirements while collaborating directly with industry leaders to elevate their daily practice,” said Georgia Krehbiel, MBA, CEO of ALPS.

ALPS and PFA will also support and amplify relevant educational initiatives, sharing knowledge and resources where it adds value. As the global healthcare landscape continues to evolve, ALPS and PFA stand together in their commitment to improving mobility, preventing limb loss, and advancing education in pedorthic and interdisciplinary care worldwide.

Together, ALPS and PFA aim to raise awareness, strengthen understanding of pedorthic care, and support better outcomes through ongoing collaboration and shared expertise
