Anaheim, California, United States – April 30, 2026: The American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS) and the Society for Vascular Nursing (SVN) are proud to announce strengthened collaboration, building on their successful partnership first launched in 2024.
Since the collaboration began, ALPS and SVN have worked together to elevate the role of vascular nursing and advanced practice providers within limb preservation and to promote interdisciplinary education across vascular care, podiatry, and wound care.
Ramping up joint initiatives
In 2026, ALPS and SVN are ramping up joint initiatives and supporting shared educational goals to further advance team‑based, patient‑centered care.
“Vascular nurses and advanced practice nurses play a critical role in limb preservation across a wide range of healthcare settings,” said Karen Bauer, Immediate Past President of the Society for Vascular Nursing. “Through our continued collaboration with ALPS, we are strengthening seamless, team‑based vascular care and amplifying the voice and impact of vascular nursing. Together, we are focused on early recognition of PAD risk factors, patient education, prevention, and timely management to help reduce limb loss and improve quality of life for patients.”

On May 19, 2026, ALPS and SVN will host a free, expert‑led joint webinar titled “Advancing Limb Salvage Through Multidisciplinary Wound Care Excellence.”
The webinar will focus on limb preservation and highlight the essential role of vascular nursing within multidisciplinary wound care teams. As part of ALPS and SVN’s shared educational efforts, the webinar will be recorded and made available for on‑demand viewing.

Toe & Flow session at VAM & SVN Annual Meeting: “The Great Limb Preservation Road – with ALPS”
In Boston, Massachusetts, June 10–13, 2026, ALPS will participate in the Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM26), hosted in collaboration with SVN.
The meeting offers 3.5 immersive days of leading‑edge education and collaboration, including the latest vascular research translated into practice. The ALPS session will take place Thursday, June 11, 2026. Titled: “The Great Limb Preservation Road – with ALPS” with speakers and talks:

SVN Leadership in DFCon 2026 Planning Committee
For 2026, Karen Bauer, Immediate Past President of the Society for Vascular Nursing, is a member of the DFCon planning committee, helping to ensure a strong vascular focus at the Diabetic Foot Conference (DFCon), hosted by ALPS
The 26th edition of the premier interdisciplinary diabetic foot conference in North America will take place October 22–24, 2026, at the JW Marriott Anaheim and brings together healthcare professionals from around the world, including podiatrists, vascular surgeons, vascular nurses, endocrinologists, wound care specialists, and other clinicians dedicated to limb preservation.
