Singapore, September 2025
The American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS) and Diabetic Foot Conference (DFCon) proudly announce their successful participation in the ASVS 2025 Annual Meeting, held this year in Singapore. Their involvement brought a unique and multidisciplinary perspective to the meeting, further reinforcing the importance of collaboration in advancing vascular and diabetic foot care.
Pre-Conference Workshops
Faculty from ALPS and DFCon actively contributed to pre-conference workshops, delivering hands-on training and sharing expertise with clinicians from across Asia and beyond.
“ASVS 2025 was a unique opportunity to bring the ALPS and DFCon family together on Asian soil for the very first time,”
noted Dr. David Armstrong, ALPS Founding President and Distinguished Professor of Surgery and Neurological Surgery at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California.
This collaboration not only united our communities but also underscored the importance of working across borders and disciplines to advance limb preservation worldwide.”
These sessions highlighted cutting-edge approaches to vascular surgery, wound management, and diabetic foot care, equipping participants with practical skills to apply in their own practices.
First-Ever DFCon Asia Track
A historic milestone was reached with the launch of the first-ever DFCon Asia Track at ASVS 2025. This dedicated track brought global leaders in diabetic foot management together with regional experts to discuss innovations, challenges, and strategies tailored to the Asian context. As Dr. Michael Conte, ALPS Founding Clinical Chair explained,
“The launch of the DFCon Asia Track is a landmark moment. By exchanging ideas with colleagues across disciplines and geographies, we are moving closer to our shared goal of preventing amputations and improving quality of life for patients.”
The inclusion of this track marked an important step in strengthening international collaboration to combat the burden of diabetic foot complications worldwide.
Contribution to the Wound Track
In addition to their own track, ALPS and DFCon faculty participated in the wound track, where they emphasized a holistic, team-based approach to patient care. By uniting vascular surgeons, diabetologists, podiatrists, wound care specialists, and nurses, the sessions underscored the power of multidisciplinary dialogue in driving better patient outcomes. Reflecting on this collaboration, Dr. Cyaandi Dove, ALPS Board Member shared,
“Our joint presence at ASVS highlighted not just scientific excellence, but also the spirit of collaboration. It was a worthy exchange of experiences that will shape future initiatives in Asia and globally.”
ALPS Leadership Perspective
ALPS CEO Georgia Krehbiel emphasized the broader significance of this collaboration:
“Our joint work with DFCon at ASVS 2025 stands as a true testimonial to ALPS’s role as a global limb preservation education provider. By engaging with partners across disciplines and continents, we demonstrate our commitment to advancing education, research, and patient care on a worldwide scale.”
