Napa, CA – World-renowned Professor of Surgery and podiatric surgeon, Dr. David G. Armstrong, delivered a keynote address at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Vascular Symposium held at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California. The Symposium was chaired by Professor Mike Conte, a distinguished vascular surgeon and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at UCSF.
Dr. Armstrong, who has authored over 660 peer-reviewed research papers and over 110 books, heads the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. He also holds the esteemed position of Founding President of the American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS).
The keynote address centered on the critical subject of building global limb preservation programs with a goal of eliminating preventable amputation, particularly in individuals with diabetes.
Dr. Armstrong, during his speech, noted, “The impactful programs built by many of the meeting’s participants, especially those led by Professor Conte and his partner, Professor Reyzelman, have served as inspiring models worldwide. Their work forms the cornerstone of our collective fight against preventable amputation.”
