Washington, DC — The American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS) was pleased to be a part of “Taste of Iceland”, a distinguished event, hosted by the Icelandic Embassy and Kerecis. This event, which showcased the best of Icelandic culture, was a celebration of the strong ties between Iceland and the United States.
Prof. David G. Armstrong, Founding President of ALPS, delivered the keynote address that emphasized the importance of a collaborative, team-based approach to limb preservation. In his talk, Dr. Armstrong discussed the value of bringing together clinicians from diverse backgrounds and regions to advance limb preservation efforts, integrating new technologies in tissue repair and wound healing. His insights underscored ALPS’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary partnerships and improving patient outcomes through shared expertise. Also in attendance was Svanhildur Hólm Valsdóttir, the recently appointed Ambassador of Iceland to the United States.
“ALPS is pleased to be part of this significant event, reflecting a momentous intersection of healthcare and diplomacy. The Society’s involvement highlights its ongoing efforts to build meaningful connections within the healthcare community and beyond, promoting a collaborative approach to limb preservation on a global scale.” Georgia Krehbiel, MBA, CEO of ALPS.
