The American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS) proudly introduces the ALPS Fellowship in Limb Preservation—a first-of-its-kind, multidisciplinary post-graduate training program designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in limb salvage. Through hands-on experience at world-class partner institutions and guided by leading experts, fellows will gain deep expertise in preventing amputation and improving outcomes for patients with diabetes, PAD, and complex wounds.
About the Fellowship
A Multidisciplinary Model for Limb Preservation Training
The ALPS Fellowship in Limb Preservation is a 12-month advanced training program for physicians and specialists seeking comprehensive, multidisciplinary education in the science and practice of limb salvage.
Core Focus Areas:
- Multidisciplinary “Toe & Flow” care models
- Diabetic foot ulcer management
- Advanced surgical and non-surgical limb-salvage techniques
- Vascular and perfusion assessment
- Clinical research and innovation in limb preservation
- Addressing health disparities and promoting equity in limb care
Fellows rotate across ALPS-affiliated academic centers in the U.S. and abroad, gaining broad, hands-on clinical and research experience.
The fellowship will be governed by the ALPS Fellowship Review Committee and the Fellowship Advisory Board, with quarterly evaluations and a final capstone summit presentation.

- Vascular Surgery
- Endocrinology

- Interventional Radiology
- Other fields related to limb preservation might also be applicable
